Video is destined to become the next phenomenon. Everyone agrees. So much more can be done with video than the written word or even audio recordings. Of course if you are working at your desk dressed in a tank shirt and shorts it is better that callers can't see you on their computer screen. Otherwise video should be your preferred presentation, marketing, and communication medium- and it's growing in universal popularity every day. The acceptance alone answers the question, why use video?
When creating a training piece or even an article to post on a blog, use video whenever you can. Presentations recorded on video are far more powerful and effective than any other medium. Viewers see facial expressions and body language multiplying the impact of the points being made. Even a video recording of a PowerPoint tutorial beats any other method of archiving training.
Here is another big reason for choosing video. I recently wrote an article entitled Real Estate Agent Income Is Dropping and submitted it to a top article submission site and it was published. Another article was written on the same topic for my blog and it is entitled Real Estate Agent Income. Just a few days later I searched the title on Google. As hoped, my published article was on the first page, in the second position, a great reason to post quality content on a popular submission site. Scrolling down was that blog post on the second page in the third position.
Here's the amazing part. On the next few pages on Google was the exact same article title on another blog post. Stunned, I clicked to see what it was. There was my entire article on this other blog. Not a word had been changed and the blog owner had even given me full credit. He basically reprinted the post including the link to my blog site. That was great. One article submitted and the exposure greater than ever expected.
Investigating further to see if there might be any more blogs using the article, guess what was found. There were another four in the next few Google pages- but they didn't post the full article or give any author credit. They had even changed some of the wording. A couple of them must have put the article through a program to change article words automatically (there are many such programs available) and the person who posted the article didn't bother to make sure the replaced text still had proper structure- but there was my article. It was unmistakable.
Keep in mind that there was no damage as a result of their theft, but first thoughts were, "They couldn't have done that with videos!"
Even with the videos produced using PowerPoint there is still no way for someone to steal and rework original creations. They would have to recompose the entire video themselves. Video cannot be just copied and altered. Just that fact alone makes a great case for using video.
