Jeff Paul - Teleseminar Millions

By: Ric Thompson

Jeff Paul is the author of the famous program and infomercial, "How to Make Money Quick and Easy Sitting at Your Kitchen Table in Your Underwear," which was sold to over 150,000 people, many of whom became their own home-based million-dollar successes using Jeff's proprietary techniques anyone can do. Jeff reveals all his proven Internet cash attraction secrets so you can get your money-making website up and running … even if you know nothing about putting up websites or Internet programming.

RIC THOMPSON: Take it away, Jeff.

JEFF PAUL: I'm really excited to be here doing this call today with you all, because this is one of my favorite topics. I really have two favorite topics, actually. I'll explain them her really quickly. One is making the maximum amount of money with a minimum amount of work.

The other topic is the things that I do with my free time that I have from making all the money without having to do much work. This Teleseminar Millions topic is absolutely one of the most exciting things I've ever been involved in. We're going to give you some amazing information on this call today. I'd like to introduce myself to you and get started.

My name is Jeff Paul. I do think most of you know who I am, so I won't bore you with all those details. If you don't, I'll just sum it up really fast and briefly. You may know me as the guy who's famous for the "How to Make Money, Quick and Easy, Sitting at Your Kitchen Table in Your Underwear!" product. It's been sold for 15 or 16 years now, and also over the last few years my "Shortcuts to Internet Millions" product.

You may have seen me on TV. Since my shows are on most every night, if you're up between midnight and 5:00 AM, you've probably seen our infomercials. We've sold over 250,000 of those programs just on TV. Separate from those TV products, I've also sold over $40 million worth of my own products right here from this crappy little office over my garage.

I work with just a computer, a phone and a fax. That's where I'm sitting right now. I've also sold 161,000 units of a product on "QVC" at one point in time until good old Suze Orman knocked me off and copied my product. She crushed me like a grape and drove me off of "QVC." That's another story for another time. We won't get into that now. As I've said, I've sold over $40 million worth of products and counting, all from sitting here in this little office over my garage.

Quite a bit of that is from using the teleseminar techniques I'm going to be teaching you here today. That's enough about me. We're going to cover a lot of information, and we need to make sure you have a pen and paper handy, or your computer fired up. We're going to go through this stuff really quickly, even faster that I originally thought I was going to do it.

This training program I'm putting on here for you today, we normally cover this type of information in a two-day seminar. We're only going to be doing this in a little over an hour or so. We're really going to cover this material fast, so you're going to want to take notes and make sure you keep track of what we're doing here. You're also going to find out a little bit later on the call how you can get a license to sell a couple of my bestselling teleseminar products using my teleseminars for yourself.

You don't have to do anything. As you're going to find out, that's a $9,904 value that you're going to get absolutely free. We're going to explain that toward the end of the call. Let's go and get rolling here. We've talked about a lot of topics over the years, and I don't think there's anything we've had more success making money on the Internet from than with teleseminars. In fact, I know that's true.

We've never had more success making money on the Internet than with teleseminars. There really isn't anything that comes close to how well we've done with the teleseminars in terms of making maximum money in minimum time the lazy way, which is my way. We're going to help you understand this incredible tool that we call teleseminars and how to generate millions from your own teleseminars, and we're going to tell you how to get over a $9,900 freebie that you can get.

Please pay attention and make sure that you're here with us at the end of the call. I'm also going to be taking questions at the end of the call, and we'll explain how the Q&A session will work when we get done with the presentation here in about an hour. One of the first things I'd like to talk about is the price range of the products we sell on teleseminars.

The price ranges anywhere from $997, not $9.97, on the low end, and we've actually sold products for as high as $9,000 on the high end. That's a pretty wide range of pricing, but the products we sell on teleseminars we consider high- price products. That's a terminology we use which is 'high-price products'. A lot of marketers, when selling products from teleseminars, do them in the $99 to $199 range.

I've seen some sell for as much as $795. If you're taking notes, which I hope you are-please take some notes!-I'm going to give you some 10-star tips here. These are things you should write down; all these 10-star tips. I'm going to give you one right now, which is that we know for a fact, and this is very important 10-star tip, that selling cheap products on teleseminars is just as hard as it to sell expensive, or what we call high-price products.

Usually, in almost all cases, the amount of work and effort you put in is identical with low-price products against high-price products, except you make 10, 20, 30, 50 times as much money selling high-price products. Make sure that's a 10-star tip that you don't forget; that selling high-price products is the way to go. That's a very, very important tip. The next thing I want to stress is that we only sell information products.

We do not want you to sell hard goods ever. There are two reasons. One is that hard goods require prepayments of inventory. Let me tell you, inventory totally sucks. 'Sucks' is a technical term we use in direct marketing that means something that is really bad. Inventory is really bad. You get to pay for the hard goods ahead of time, lay out the cash, and pray someone will buy from you.

It is a really bad way to do business. You have to lay out all that cash. You have to take huge risks and hope that the crap sells. If you don't sell it, you have to keep reducing your prices, and then eventually you offer a two-for-one. Eventually, when you can't sell it you have to donate it to charities or melt it down for its food value and maybe you can eat it.

Doing business like that with inventory totally sucks, and I know what I'm talking about. I grew up in a family that was in the retail business for years and years. I ran retail stores, and I know what the misery is of buying the inventory ahead of time and hoping that you have people who will buy from you so you get your money back. Prepaying for inventory totally sucks. We never want you to do it.

Information products, in contrast, allow you to only produce the products after you've collected the money and made the sales. You don't need an inventory. More important, you don't need to lay out a penny for the products until you actually have collected the cash first. That's one of the huge 10-star tips I want you to write down. That's one thing about teleseminars, the way we do it, is only with information products and with high-priced information products.

Speaking of high prices, let's discuss the concept of profit margins. With hard goods that we talked about a minute ago that we say suck, the usual margin is what is called 'keystone', which means a 50% profit margin, or double your cost. For example, if you buy a pair jeans in a retail store, they charge you $80. They normally pay $40 to the wholesaler, or the manufacturer, for that product.

That's pretty normal in retail; it's called 'keystone'. Some businesses operate above keystone, and maybe they make 100% or 200% margin, like in a jewelry store, for example. If they sell you a pair of earrings for $1,000, they may have only paid $300 for it. Their margin is better than normal retail products, but it still sucks in my opinion. That's because, number one, this markup isn't near high enough.

Number two, it leads to a business that only nets you, maybe, 3% to 10% net profit after all is said and done. With the information products that I'm talking about, selling on teleseminars, if you sell a product for $1,000 you're actual hard cost may be $40, $60, or maybe as high as $80 to $90, but your markup is enormous. The net profit margins on a well run information business selling through teleseminars can be in the 30% to 50% range, not 3% to 5%.

What sounds better to you, making a $1,000 sale with a $500 or $600 gross margin, or making a $1,000 sale with a $900 or $950 gross margin? What about a business that takes in $1 million and nets only $50,000 to $100,000 for the owner, risking hundreds of thousands in ongoing inventory payments. Plus, they pay $70,000 to $80,000 or $100,000 in royalties if it's a franchise, which we'll talk about a little bit later.

Or would you like a business that takes in the same $1 million and its all information products sold on teleseminars? Then your net profit margin is $300,000, $400,000, even maybe as much as $500,000 without paying a dime for inventory or royalties. You tell me what's better. I know the answer for me, for sure. I want to assure that everything here I'm telling you is just the way we do it, exactly the way we do it.

Our teleseminar numbers, literally and totally, overwhelm other marketers by hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars a year. As far as we know, and we know pretty much every marketer who's out there on the Internet selling stuff, we sell more high-priced products on teleseminars through the Internet than anyone we've heard of. I'm not just saying that to brag or anything; it's just a fact.

I don't know anybody who sells even close to the kinds of numbers we do on teleseminars through the Internet. What you're going to hear about today is the first time we've begun to offer this particular teleseminar package and all of our teleseminar secrets. We're going to share all of our inside, very private, teleseminar secrets, our tools, our methods, tricks, procedures, scripts, offers, our order-taking functions, our disaster prevention, even products that we sell.

A very limited number of people on this call today are going to be given everything so you can do exactly what we do. You can generate the same kind of numbers that we do for ourselves. That's one thing we get asked a lot: what's your record for your highest-selling teleseminar that you ever did? What's your number one teleseminar? I'm going to share that with you.

We actually had 750 people on a teleseminar. In fact, I could have had more than that on the call, but the technology at the time kept us at 750 people. This is for a brand new product that we'd never sold before. The product sold for $2,195. There were no installments and no money-back guarantees on this particular product. I was working with a partner. They did not want to offer installments, and they did not want to offer money-back guarantees.

We sold 152 units of that product on that teleseminar the first time we did it live, which was $333,000-and-change worth of that product on one call that lasted 75 minutes, just a bit over an hour. I'm not good at doing math, but if you divide 75 minutes into $333,000, it's a pretty good hourly rate, I think. That's our record. We're not saying you're going to do that all the time, or ever.

We have not gotten as high as that again. I want to let you know the power of doing teleseminars is just amazing. A couple of things I want to mention about this $333,000 call is that, number one, people we know in the Internet business tell us we could never do that kind of money on a teleseminar, especially because we're not offering installments and we're not offering any kind of money-back guarantee.

People who thought they knew what they were doing were wrong on both counts. Here's the other part about this that's amazing. This particular call has been running for six years. We replay this call every single month and have for the last six years. We don't sell $333,000 on it. We only do an average of $150,000 every time we replay this call. It is a replay. It's never been changed. It has not been touched in six years.

We do it to a certain group of our customers over and over every month, and we average $150,000 on that call every single month with the replay. None of us are on the call. It's all recorded. We'll talk about that in a minute. It means that money is coming in over and over, month after month like clockwork; cha-ching every single month. It's all based on replays.

I'm not there doing the call. My partner is not there. It's all happening with staff. We're going to talk more about that in a few minutes. That's one more of our secrets of Teleseminar Millions. One of the things I want to stress that's very important-and this may be a 10-star tip or maybe it's a 10-million-star tip-is that you should be shooting for an average of $30,000 to $50,000 per teleseminar in sales.

Our average call of all the teleseminars we do each month is $30,000 to $50,000 in sales from the teleseminar. This is an average you should be shooting for with high-priced products. We're saying that because if you do everything correctly with the right products, the right market, and things we're going to talk about here over the remainder of this presentation today, you should be able to do that with no problem.

That should be a very standard number for you. What if we do a teleseminar? Let's say I did a teleseminar and I took in $9,500. My response to that, if I did that as a live teleseminar and I took in only $9,500, I would not be happy at all with that. I'm not saying that as bragging or lording it over anyone, because I'm not doing that. I'm not doing this out of ego. I'm just saying that for us doing $9,500 on a teleseminar would be pretty bad.

We would be very unhappy. I'm sure a lot of you might be happy doing that in sales in an hour, and I'm not saying you shouldn't be. Maybe in the beginning that's where you'll be. I just want to let you know that when people follow our program and do it right, they get the same numbers that we do, which is an average of $30,000 to $50,000 per teleseminar.

We wanted to let you know that we want you to leapfrog right up to the $30,000 to $50,000 range instantly, and that's what we're going to try to help you do here with this presentation today. We don't want you to have to make $9,500 in the beginning and they grow your way up. We want you to use the leapfrog principle. The leapfrog principle is very important.

That means you don't wait to earn you stripes, so to speak, or to get permission from somebody to go up to the $30,000 to $50,000 per teleseminar. We're going to show you how to get up there immediately and do that right away, so you get the leapfrog up instantly to the same level we on. We're going to be giving you everything exactly the way that we do it, including the products that we sell and the prerecorded teleseminars.

We're kind of greedy. We like to have a lot of money and make a lot of money. We're going to show you how to do the same thing that we do and get to that $30,000 to $50,000 range right off the bat. I'm going to give you a quick example of how we do teleseminars, what happens when you do them correctly, and how you can even beat that $30,000 to $50,000 range.

Just last week we did a teleseminar and we sold 35 units on that teleseminar of a $1,995 product, which is just shy of $70,000 in sales from that one teleseminar. That means people responded to the marketing. Now they saw our emails, they went to a webpage, and they signed up to be on the call. There were 728 people who signed up for the call and 239 who showed up on the call, which is a pretty standard ratio.

Then we had 41 people place orders from that call out of the 239 who showed up. Of those 41 orders, 35 of those were good orders, which means their credit card was good in the ordering process. We got the money and were able to ship them the product. To follow up on that, we did a web replay for a few days after the original call, and in the system we teach you how to do web replays.

You give them two or three days to listen to the call on the web if they missed it when it was played on the teleseminar. I think we brought in six more orders, which is another $12,000. The promotion did $82,000 between the original teleseminar and the web replay. We made $82,000, and it only cost us a few hundred dollars to put on this teleseminar. I'm going to give you some very important numbers here that you'll need to know…
