Social networking is very big these days when popular sites like Facebook and MySpace grew into places where millions of registered users are currently active. The whole theme revolved around people getting in touch and making new friends as well. This social networking buzz attracted Internet users of all ages as well as Internet marketing professionals. Internet marketers see social networking sites as a new opportunity to make money online by attracting people from these sites to their affiliate sites.
One concern is that many people in social networking sites see advertisements as spam while others do not wish to be disturbed with products and services that are available online. Like many other social networking sites, LinkedIn does not provide a direct method for registered users to make money. Therefore, those that have made money using social networking sites in the past will be familiar with the process. The income still comes from the many legitimate affiliate programs and advertisement applications that people build sites and blogs around. Internet marketers advertise these sites and blogs using the different online tools offered by LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is a community of professionals and they are registered in these networks to look for opportunities or offer new opportunities to others. Both sides represent ways to make money online since you may discover new ways to make money and possibly partner up with these people.
There are many individuals that have successfully advertised their online opportunities in regular social networks. However, many people in these social networks decline the offer because several programs require an upfront fee to join. Advertising these programs in LinkedIn increases the likelihood of people joining these opportunities because the average personal income of LinkedIn members is about $150,000. This is by no means a requirement for joining LinkedIn, but serves as proof that these professionals are out to do business.
Getting Started with LinkedIn
Do not expect to make money with LinkedIn right away even if you have active Internet marketing opportunities. Start slow and steady by first creating a profile and connecting with people that you professionally know. Once you established a small network, look at the other people connected with those you are linked with and check their profiles. If the profile matches your target market, send a message to that individual.
Remember that LinkedIn is a professional social network so be sure to work on your communication skills and present yourself as a professional as well so others can take your website seriously. Once you managed to get others in your network, they can spread your link as well or you can join LinkedIn groups to further expand your profile.
