Combining Social Networking with Efficiency for Better Results

You have decided to start your own website and join the fray, so to speak. It follows that you also want a cut of the cake when it comes to revenue sharing. Hence, you are interested in social networking. But for you to become one of the success stories on the net, you have to learn all about social networking and how to avoid the pitfalls of being ruled by the net. Time management, efficiency and the important things to know about social networking can make you enjoy better results. This will make your web experience more interesting, liberating and fun.

To help you manage time in your social media sites, here are some tips:

Social Networking Client program
Social networking client program is usually a feature of most social networking sites. This can be additional sites or software free to be downloaded in order to make your networking endeavors easier. Tweetdeck for Twitter is a perfect example. It simplifies your networking by managing all the messages for you or that mentions your name in any Twitter conversation. By being able to respond to conversations directly involving you, more time is saved on the net.

Networkedblog is one of the clients and partners of FaceBook that makes it possible for your blog to be connected to FaceBook. Likewise, LinkedIn has partners and clients that allow uploading and sharing of slide shows and your PowerPoint presentations using SlideShare. On the other hand, Squidoo can connect to FaceBook, LinkedIn, YouTube and others because of its partnering clients.

Automated System
You can now connect your page in FaceBook, Linkedin to Twitter or other sites. This makes everything automated so you only need to post an entry in at most two sites but this will appear automatically in sites that you have this automated setup. Nonetheless, you have to be sure about automating your site because you wouldn't like to post something personal in your professional profiles. Different sites have different audiences like FaceBook being more personal, LinkedIn as professional while other sites like Google Reads and Squidoo are more into specific audience like your new ebook reading audience.

Being In Control
Respond only to conversations asking for a reply, additional information, guidance or more details. You don't have to e-mail or reply to everyone who posts responses or thank you notes. And try to make a schedule of replying to posts for a few minutes twice a week. Make sure to segregate your mails to make replying easier for you.

Practice Common Courtesy
The worst turnoff online is when someone who is practically a stranger making a sales pitch. It is common courtesy online or offline (person to person) to establish connections, friendship and relationship based on trust and credibility before doing any selling. Committing this blunder will cost you time, money, connections and followers.

Manage Your Time
Set aside a certain period of time like 30 to 120 minutes online for social networking. Don't get caught up chatting, conversing or checking a new site. Be disciplined, set a timer and stop when time is up.

You don't have to get sucked into social networking or your internet stuff. Have a system when working online so you can maximize your time. Learn to be efficient. And make the net work for you. With time management and efficiency when doing social networking, you can expect better results.
